Music

Music is in integral part of life at Kilkenny College we endeavor to inspire a love of music in students of all ages and abilities. We cater to a wide range of musical styles from classical to traditional, jazz and rock.

We offer tuition in a wide range of instruments: piano / singing / violin / viola / cello / organ / saxophone / trombone / trumpet / clarinet / percussion / bass, electric, acoustic, and classical guitar / ukulele / flute / recorder / tin whistle / music theory.  

We have a wide range of instruments available in the school for use and many are available to rent through the school rental scheme.

Students are welcome to join our many ensembles such as, jazz band, Irish traditional group, ukulele group, orchestra, sight singing/ junior /senior and chamber choirs.  

Our students have opportunities to perform at our many school events such as, the carol service, the musical evening, and the many pop-up concerts that take part during the year. We also take part in choral and music festivals throughout the country. For further information please contact our department coordinator:

The Ukulele and Irish Traditional Music Group rehearse lunchtimes. Check with Ms. Hennessy for times.
