Notification to parents/guardians and staff at Kilkenny College
17.00 Hours: Monday 16th October
The Minister for Education and Skills has instructed that all schools are to remain closed for Tuesday 17th October 2017 as a consequence of the national Status Red weather alert.
In accordance with national policy Kilkenny College will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday 17th October. Subject to the national Status Red weather alert being lifted, the College will re-open for Boarders to return from 18.00hours on Tuesday 17th October. On this basis and again, subject to the national weather status, classes will re-commence for all students on Wednesday 18th October at 08.40Hours.
There is some debris lying on the campus which it is planned to clear during tomorrow.
The cooperation and understanding of parents and guardians in relation to impact of this national weather alert is appreciated.

Congratulations to Clifford Neale (class of 2017) who recently won the Area 9 (Carlow/Kilkenny/Wexford) Competition of the ETTA (Engineering Technology Teachers Association) for his Engineering Technology Project. This year was a Search and Rescue Helicopter.
Clifford’s project now goes forward to the National finals which will be held in Letterkenny on the 17th & 18th of November. The very best wishes to Clifford in the next stage of the competition.
